EnviroCentre is an Ottawa-based environmental not-for-profit that supports residents, enterprises, and communities to find practical ways to reduce their environmental impact in ways that benefit our communities. Our four key impact areas are Home Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Transportation, Waste and Circular Economy, and Green Infrastructure. We have been working for over twenty-five years to promote practical climate action and awareness in our local communities and Eastern Ontario, and we are one of the leading agencies in environmental action.
A core part of our work is delivering Energy Affordability Programs, which have helped over 18,000 households since 2022 access free home energy-saving upgrades that lower energy bills and improve home comfort.
Position Overview ย
Outreach Volunteers play an important role in connecting residents to free energy affordability programs, which provide energy-saving upgrades to income-eligible households. Volunteers support outreach efforts by engaging directly with community members at local events, workshops, and partner locations a maximum of 1-2 times per month.
In this role, volunteers share clear and accessible information about the programs, answer questions, help residents understand program eligibility, and support them in accessing these programs. The focus is to educate individuals about home energy efficiency and empower them to lower their energy bills and increase their home comfort.
This is a public-facing role suited for individuals who enjoy interacting with diverse communities and want to gain experience in outreach, engagement, and community networking.

- Assist with event set-up and tear downย

Qualifications: ย ย
- Desire to support vulnerable and underserved communitiesย
- Passion or interest in climate action and sustainabilityย
- Passion or interest in learning about home energy efficiency
- Communication, outreach, and networking skills or a desire to build these skills.ย
- Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset ย ย
Note:ย
- A valid criminal record check may be required upon selection.
- Volunteers are required to provide their own transportation to and from events

Volunteer Locations
We are currently seeking volunteers in the following communities:
Cobourg, Trenton, Belleville, Kingston, Peterborough, Lindsay, Pembroke, Renfrew, Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Cornwall, and Ottawa.
