Drive Green Ottawa is a celebration of Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEVs). This week-long event is for anyone who wants to learn more about ZEVs. We’ll be offering free public events and activities that will highlight the most up-to-date information about vehicles, infrastructure and resources to get you started on your journey to ZEV ownership!
What to Expect
Daily Speaker Series: Meet experts from the City of Ottawa, Envari, EVCO, Hydro Ottawa, and Stuckless Consulting. They will be covering a range of topics, from charging technology, infrastructure, and financial incentives to micromobility and why owning a ZEV is so great!
Pop-up EV Expo: Join us in person! We’ll be visiting four locations across the city, this is your chance to chat with EV owners and check out their vehicles.
Podcast: EnviroCentre’s Green Room guest this week will be Raymond Leury, President of the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa.
Drive Green Bingo: Join in the fun! Featuring electric vehicle and infrastructure spots in your neighbourhood!

Workshops & Events
Pop-Up EV Expo
Imagine a city filled with EVs. The noise and air pollution have become a thing of the past and personal transportation has gone all electric!
The Drive Green Ottawa Pop-up EV Expo will feature members of the community in their own electric vehicles, stationed in four locations across the city for one hour at a time. The purpose is for members of the public to have the opportunity to engage with EV owners, see their vehicles and ask questions.
What is it like to own a ZEV in Ottawa?
Monday, September 27th from 2pm – 3pm
Join us for a presentation by Raymond Leury, President of the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO), as he shares what it is like to adapt to a ZEV and charging up rather than fueling up. He will cover some common myths and the reality of owning a ZEV in Ottawa. Hint: they work in the winter.
The future of electric cars in Ottawa
Tuesday, September 28th, from 12pm – 1pm
Mitchell House, Electric Vehicle Project Manager, shares how the City of Ottawa is planning to support the uptake of electric vehicles in Ottawa and how the City is transforming its own vehicles.
Hint an electric ice resurfacer could be coming to a rink near you this winter!
Microbility and electrification
Wednesday, September 29th, from 2pm – 3pm
Worldwide trends indicate that more and more people are turning to micromobility for their daily transportation needs. This session will look at the role of micromobility in transportation, opportunities for growth, and the policies in Ontario that both support, and hinder, adoption.
Charging into the Future
Friday, October 1st from 11am – 12pm
Join Envari Engineer, Shana Sachwani to hear about EVs in the context of condos and MURBs.
